Leicester's title party went with a memorable bang as Claudio Ranieri's men cruised to victory after being inspired by Andrea Bocelli.
The famous Italian singer had The King Power crowd on their feet before kick off with his powerful voice after being introduced by compatriot Ranieri.
Everton appeared still spellbound when City's recalled England striker Jamie Vardy put the hosts ahead after five minutes following his return from suspension. He latched onto Andy King's right-foot cross before the Welsh international got on the scoresheet himself in the 33rd minute.
Everton were booed off the break and in the second half the away fans sang: “Roberto Martinez get out of our club.”
Vardy grabbed his second from the spot in the 65th minute after rookie Matthew Pennington pushed him in the box.
But the striker blasted over from another penalty when on a hat-trick 18 minutes from time after sub Darron Gibson fouled Jeffrey Schlupp.
Kevin Mirallas then added a consolation effort for the visitors late on.
1. Leicester know how to throw a party
WOW! It is the Foxes first-ever top-flight title but they staged a heck of a show. From the free fun-fair outside the ground to complimentary pizza and beer before the game. The King Power Stadium was decked out in Leicester colours from top to bottom and the place erupted when boss Claudio Ranieri led out Andrea Bocelli to sing Nessun Dorma and Time To Say Goodbye. The team's performance then kept the party rocking.
2. Vardy wants golden boot
Foxes top scorer Vardy marked his
return from a two-game suspension by opening the scoring early on
before earning and converting a penalty after the break. He also later blasted another penalty over but you can bet the striker will want to overhaul England rival Harry Kane at the top of the scoring charts. Vardy now has 24, compared to Kane's 25.
3. Time to say Goodbye, Roberto?
From the guard of honour on to the pitch for the champions, Everton proved ideal opponents. Vardy scored from a trademark near post dart to put the hosts ahead with a goal even Everton's injury-hit defence should have seen coming. Everton were booed off by their fans at the break and the visitors' lame display only fuelled fan anger at boss Roberto Martinez4. Kasper Schmeichel entertains his dad
Leicester's No.1 had his legendary father Peter in the stands for the title party. The former Manchester United shot-stopper broke into a wide smile when his son improvised well moments after into the second half when he denied Oumar Niasse's shot with his head outside the box.
5. Next season should be special too for Leicester
City fans are already licking their lips in anticipation of next season in the Champions League. The King Power groundsman cut the Champions League stars into the grass for the game. And if City keep their stars as the owners intend, then next season should be quite something too with the current fever pitch atmosphere set to continue. “Barcelona we are coming for you,” sang the home fans as well as “we all going on a European tour”.
