President Muhammadu Buhari was given a hero’s treatment when he visited his hometown in Daura in Katsina state.
Shortly after signing the 2016 budget on Friday, May 6, the president left Abuja for Daura on a four-day trip.
He was received by the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari, who had
earlier encouraged indigenes of the state to troop out en masse to
welcome their son.
On Sunday, May 8, President Buhari was hosted to a lunch by the Emir
of Daura HRH Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk at the Emir’s Palace in Daura.
Also present at the palace was Governor Masari and other traditional chiefs.
