The second half began with Atletico hitting harder on real Madrid.
Luck subsequently shined on Diego Simeone’s boys as Juanfran’s cross earned Yannick Carrasco an equaliser in the 79th minute.
Both La Liga giants maintained the lone goal apiece till the end of the second half.
Both stood their grounds in the extra time while Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal in the penalty shootout to help Real Madrid clinch their 11th Champions League title.
