Obiano's wife tasks women on community development

The wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obi­ano, has charged women organisations both at home and abroad to ensure delib­erate, committed and dedi­cated development, growth and peace in their commu­nities.
Chief Mrs Obiano who was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the Nawfija Town Union, women wing, at the Central School field, Eke Nawfija, enjoined them to support traditional institutions and the men wing to champion unity, peace and harmoni­ous understanding in ac­cordance with Gov Willie Obiano’s desire for commu­nities.
In her inaugural speech, the President of the associa­tion, Mrs Josephine Okey Okoli, announced immedi­ate revival of the communi­ty’s health centre which had been under lock and key for years. She also announced a health campaign awareness, drilling of a borehole each in the four villages in the community for adequate pipe-borne water supply and the activation of the Palm Oil Processing Fac­tory in the community.
Mrs Okoli also said plans were under way to complete fencing of the community’s Boys High School started by her predecessor, while also promising to assist in other fields that would make the school competitive and em­bark on empowerment out­ing for less privileged and youths of the community
