The wife of
Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, has charged women
organisations both at home and abroad to ensure deliberate, committed
and dedicated development, growth and peace in their communities.
Chief Mrs Obiano who was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the Nawfija Town Union, women wing, at the Central School field, Eke Nawfija, enjoined them to support traditional institutions and the men wing to champion unity, peace and harmonious understanding in accordance with Gov Willie Obiano’s desire for communities.
In her inaugural speech, the President of the association, Mrs Josephine Okey Okoli, announced immediate revival of the community’s health centre which had been under lock and key for years. She also announced a health campaign awareness, drilling of a borehole each in the four villages in the community for adequate pipe-borne water supply and the activation of the Palm Oil Processing Factory in the community.
Mrs Okoli also said plans were under way to complete fencing of the community’s Boys High School started by her predecessor, while also promising to assist in other fields that would make the school competitive and embark on empowerment outing for less privileged and youths of the community
