TIME FOR CABINET RESHUFFLE

The PMB presidency is about midway into her 4year 1st term mandate. In almost 2years of governance, critics are having a nice time.

There is a need for this govt to reinvigorate her cabinet,by bringing in fresh blood, and new ideas into this administration, and sent packing those ministers with poor performance. To some Nigerians, most of the ministers have not in any way convinced anybody as to their competence, and virile contribution to the nation's growth and economic stability.

The most criticized minister is the one for sports, whose conduct and performance leave much sore in the throat. The minister of communication is seen to be grossly insensitive to the plights of the masses. His calls for increase in Data tariff in a period of recession makes him very unpopular with Nigerians. The Agric ministry has not provided food for Nigerians, and instead, there seems to be famine in nigeria. The electricity sector has not improved a bit.And where are the housing for the masses? The petroleum ministry is not better off.In this period of recession,we expect a reduction in fuel price in order to boost the purchasing power of Nigerians. The minister of finance needs to do more and be proactive in order to revamp the economy. There is absolutely nothing cheering in the education or internal security sector.

Generally, there is no that spectacular ministry or minister.Nigerians only feels the impact of the ministry of Defence, which is battling the Boko Haram crisis and the Niger Delta militants. But the ministry needs to do more.

Therefore, the govt must crave for dynamism, and as a result consider some other Nigerians who have something to offer. If you ask Nigerians, majority will support the replacement of the minister of sports. They will also insist that 3 ministries for Raji Fashola is too much for a person. He is no super man.The minister of communication is grossly insensitive to Nigerians, for supporting increase in tariff at a time of chronic economic situation makes him more unpopular.

Of course, the minister of finance is trying and somehow proactive, but needs to be more home grown(look inward),and be more pragmatic. She must do away with much foreign theories that could not assist our conditions. Those theories needs to be applied to suit our situation.

  • This cabinet surely requires a reshuffle or repackaging to achieve the Change objectives, and win back the people. The masses are grumbling, and murmuring loudly. The negative impact of the recession is bitting very hard.
