A House of Representatives member, Rep. Johnson Agbonayinma (Edo-PDP), has advised state governors under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to focus more on citizens’ welfare and de-emphasise Governors’ Forum activities.
Agbonayinma gave the advice in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja.
He explained that it was necessary for state governors to prioritize their programmes by caring for the people and ensure that they got divided of democracy instead of focusing on governors’ association.
According to him, instead of them to go back to their various states where people are suffering, they come to Abuja spending the taxpayer’s money that belongs to the state in the name of governors’ forum.
“I am not against anybody having governors’ forum or such, but what have we achieved with years of governors forum? I want to know.
“Some of the governors have done worst in their states. I was speaking with one of the governors and he said he had stopped attending the meeting.
“He said he wanted to serve his people instead of wasting time with governors’ forum.
“Let governors make sure that divided of democracy gets to their people.” Agbonayinma said.
He urged PDP members to sustain the party by giving it back to the people where power belonged. (NAN)
