Ondo APC crisis deepens

*Party executive suspend chairman, set
up disciplinary committee

*I remain Ondo APC chair -Kekemeke

Some aggrieved members of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state
have set up a three-man facts finding
disciplinary committee to investigate the
embattled chairman of the party, Mr. Isaacs
Kekemeke.
The three man disciplinary committee are:
Abayomi Adesanya (chairman) Saka Yusuf-
Ogunleye (secretary) and Rasheed Badmus
as member.
Daily Times learned that the decision to
probe Mr. Kekemeke was unanimously
adopted by members of the State Executive
Committee (SEC) of the party in Ondo state.
They had earlier passed a unanimous vote
of “no confidence” on Mr. Kekemeke after
he was accused of failing to discharge his
duties and neglecting the activities of the
party.
He was also accused of failing to discharge
his responsibilities, and for neglect and
dereliction of duty, among other offenses, in
contravention of atticle 21(D)(vi), of the
Constitution of the APC,(October 2014 as
amended),” the members said.
The members have already chose Ade
Adetimehin, the Deputy Chairman of the
party to “act” in the position of the state
chairman pending the outcome of the report
of the disciplinary committee.
Mr. Adetimehin had been receiving
defectors mostly from the opposition Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) into the fold of the
APC on behalf of the party.
Trouble had started for the embattled APC
state Chairman after he was accused of
running the activities of the party like a
“one man business” in 2016.
However, reacting to his suspension Mr.
Kekemeke said he remained the bonfide
Chairman of the APC in the state.
He spoke in a statement issued to journalists
in Akure at the weekend while describing
his suspension as a remote controlled,
illegal and morally reprehensible conduct
of some rancorous elements in the state
executives.
