A civil group, the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has scored the seven years anniversary of Mr. Rauf Aregbesola government in the state low, described the administration as insincere, wasteful and dishonest that ever adorn the governance of the State in the current political dispensation, saying that the government has been characterized by the mismanagement of the State resources in the last seven years.

The group also regretted the debilitating debt profile of the State under the present regime to the tune of over N400billion, adding that only divine intervention could remove the burden of huge debt from the neck of the State in the next twenty years, noting that the State government was characterized by the misplacement of priorities in the application of public funds.

This was contained in a statement issued by the group’s Directorate of Media and Strategy and signed by its Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, which copies were made available to newsmen on Monday, maintained that Aregbesola’s administration lacks accountability, probity, and transparency in the management of government’s business transaction since inception in November 27, 2010.

It alleged that the State has been using the sum of N2.4billion of its monthly allocation to service the loan incurred by this government since 2014 and the projects attached with ignoble loan might not be completed before the expiration of this administration in 2018, alleging that all the acclaimed road projects in the State were 30 percent completion and nobody could determine the total amount being spent on these uncompleted projects.

It said, “All the acclaimed developmental concepts of Rauf Aregbesola are meant to surcharge the good people of Osun State and diversion of huge part of the funds earmarked for the development of the State into the private purse of Aregbesola families, cronies, and associates in Lagos State.The seven years administration of Aregbesola, are also characterized by the continuing criminal and illegal diversion of Local Government funds till date.

“While Aregbesola is neglecting the welfare of the people in pursuit of personal comfort by wasting part of meager resources of the State into the hiring of a helicopter for the unnecessary journey that has no bearing in the governance of the State.The gargantuan debt incurred by Aregbesola had grave implication for the citizens of the State for putting the State into an undue burden of posterity”

Speaking further on the seven years anniversary broadcast of Aregbesola, CSCEOS stated that the speech was full of deceit and falsehood, which was just characterized by self-praising and rating that made it lacks substance and as well watering, wondering how Aregbesola would score his government, instead of allowing the good people of the State who were being pinched by his misgovernance to rate his cosmetic regime.

Speaking on the enrollment in the public schools, it disclosed that pupils and students enrollment was increased in the public primary and post-primary schools, due to the down-to- throat tax regime being introduced in the educational sector of the State which force the parents and guardians alike to withdraw their wards from private schools public schools in the State.
