Christians have been killed so many times in the North without any real response from the Christian community probably due to the sort of blackmail we're seeing today where the Sultan, ulama and imams and other Muslim leaders are condemning Christian leaders who are crying out against such killings. Many Christians prefer being politically correct and will willingly lick arse just to be seen in the right light.
Now Bishop Oyedepo has spoken up...and 'everybody' is up in arms against him!
In the present narrative, those who want him hanged are pushing for us to forget the dastardly killings and face what Oyedepo has said. How nonsensically half-smart!
If there were no killings, would Oyedepo have spoken? Or, if the govt of the day had risen up IMMEDIATELY to tackle the killings without giving the impression of condoning (or even supporting) it, would Oyedepo have been so angry?
Look, you can be as politically correct as you want, you can keep bullshitting yourself about unity or any of those nonsensical attributes we mouth off but NEVER possess, the truth is that anyone who isn't thoroughly outraged (I mean VERY angry) about the recent happenings in Southern Kaduna is probably dead in the mind, dead in the conscience and dead all over.
Oyedepo is quoted to have said Nigeria should break up if that the will of God. Yes, what's wrong with that? If I desire Nigeria's unity but the will of God decides otherwise, why would you blame me? Moreover, why must the blood of non-Muslims in the North (among others) be used as the cement that holds this country together? They will be killed continuously and everybody will pretend all is well but when the Christians raise up a cry to say 'enough is enough', then it is those Christians that are "threatening the unity of the country". Isn't that patent bullshit??
When the killings were going on, you didn't hear the IGP say pim, you didn't hear the Minister of Interior say pim. They deployed no security agents and simply watched. But when the Christian community couldn't bear the genocide any longer and started shouting, govt officials suddenly woke up from their sectional reverie and started blaming Christian leaders for "causing disunity". Ever heard anything more disgustingly annoying?
Abeg free Oyedepo jooor! People are extremely pissed at the handling of the Southern Kaduna killings. It is clear that the govt deliberately left the killings to fester a good while (probably to teach the 'bloody infidels' a lesson) before they started deploying troops etc. Those killings became even more aggravating when the Presidency suddenly remembered a nebulous form of 'federalism' they never believed in and publicly claimed nonchalance about the killings saying El-Rufai is handling it.
In the face of these extreme provocations (nevermind the unresolved killings of Bridget Agbahime in Kano where the arrested killers were freed, the Redeemed preacher-woman in Kubwa and the numerous kidnap of Christian children forced into marriage), you expect Christian leaders to keep quiet and be meek?
